Rivermen Unveil Jerseys as part of 'Bruce Saurs Hockey Weekend In Peoria'

The Peoria Rivermen will pay tribute to legendary owner Bruce Saurs on opening weekend this year with 'Bruce Saurs Hockey Weekend in Peoria,' presented by Heritage Bank, on Friday, Oct. 24 and Saturday, Oct. 25 at Carver Arena. Both nights will feature a big-time giveaway, specialty jerseys and a fantastic group ticket special.

Peoria Rivermen head coach Jean-Guy Trudel has announced an assortment of player moves in preparation for the 2014-15 Southern Professional Hockey League season. Most notably, winger Parker Stanfield has been traded to the Louisiana IceGators in exchange for scoring threat Jake Trask (middle).

Peoria Rivermen head coach Jean-Guy Trudel announced Thursday that forward Dean Yakura has been re-signed for the 2014-15 season. In addition, rookie goaltenders Paul Dorsey and Eric Mihalik have each been signed to training camp contracts.

Individual game tickets for the 33rd season of professional hockey in Peoria will go on sale on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the Peoria Civic Center box office. Tickets will also be available online through Ticketmaster or over the phone.

Peoria Rivermen head coach Jean-Guy Trudel announced Wednesday that University of Connecticut product Jordan Sims has been signed for the 2014-15 season. Sims, 24, is the son of former Boston Bruins defenseman Al Sims, who played nearly 500 games in the National Hockey League.
