As the Blues get set for their post All-Star schedule that begins on Tuesday, they recalled Phil McRae and Nikita Nikitin while they assigned Stefan Della Rovere to Peoria.

The Peoria Rivermen made their impact on the 2011 AHL All-Star Classic at the Gant Center in Hershey, Pa. Monday night but were on the wrong side of the scoreboard. T.J Hensick's first period goal put the Western Conference up 2-1 but the East came back and won 11-9 in front of 10,736 fans.

McRae Returns After Successful NHL Debut

As the Blues entered the All-Star break, the Rivermen picked up center Phil McRae and defenseman Nikita Nikitin from St. Louis. McRae made his NHL debut on Jan. 12 in Anaheim and played seven games with the Note. He scored his first NHL goal on Jan. 26 against Calgary.

Defenseman Jake Gannon and forward Andrew Carroll have been released from their tryout contracts. Gannon will represent the Utah Grizzlies at the ECHL All-Star Game while Carroll will return to the Greenville Road Warriors.

The St. Louis Blues returned Ryan Reaves and Ian Cole to the Rivermen and recalled Nikita Nikitin and Stefan Della Rovere. All four players have made their NHL this season with St. Louis.

David Backes Blowout Sale Starts Monday

Former Peoria Rivermen David Backes is the first AHL Rivermen player to be named to an NHL All-Star team and Peoria will honor him with a canvas giveaway and discounted tickets to their game on Jan. 29 against the Grand Rapids Griffins. Beginning at 12 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 24, four-packs of tickets for David Backes Night will be on sale for just $25 in the upper bowl and $42 in the lower bowl.

T.J. Hensick Added to All-Star Classic Roster

T.J. Hensick has been added to the Western Conference All-Star roster and became the fourth Rivermen representative sent to Hershey. It will be his third all-star appearance in four seasons.
