Rivermen RadioActive Launches Tuesday on CD Country 107.9 FM

The Peoria Rivermen, in conjunction with CD Country 107.9 FM, have announced a new monthly radio show, "Rivermen RadioActive," that will begin this Tuesday at Generations Bar & Grill in Canton, Ill. The live show will take place from 7-8 p.m. and all fans are encouraged to attend.

Brett Sterling Named World Painting Company Player of the Month

The Peoria Rivermen announced today that winger Brett Sterling has been named the World Painting Company Player of the Month for October. Over the 10 games in October, Sterling scored seven times and added six assists in his first month with the Rivermen.

Rivermen Announce Opening Roster for 30th Season

The Peoria Rivermen will open the 30th season of professional hockey in Peoria on Saturday night with 24 players on their roster, including 14 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders. The Rivermen will host the Milwaukee Admirals (Nashville) at 7 p.m. on Saturday night at Carver Arena.

Wives and girlfriends of Rivermen players are joining ladies around the American Hockey League and National Hockey League in support of a special fundraising effort to help the families of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team that were affected by the tragic plane crash that took place on Sept. 7 in Russia.

The Peoria Rivermen have teamed up with the Rockford IceHogs and the Chicago Wolves to play for the inaugural Illinois Lottery Cup during the 2011-12 season. The winner will be determined by best overall winning percentage in head-to-head series between the three Illinois-based teams.

Four Released from Training Camp

St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has assigned forwards Jonathan Cheechoo, Adam Cracknell, Philip McRae, Anthony Peluso and Brett Sterling, defensemen Ian Cole and Mark Cundari along with goaltender Ben Bishop to the Blues' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, Peoria Rivermen.
