Rivermen Add UConn Product Jordan Sims

Peoria Rivermen head coach Jean-Guy Trudel announced Wednesday that University of Connecticut product Jordan Sims has been signed for the 2014-15 season. Sims, 24, is the son of former Boston Bruins defenseman Al Sims, who played nearly 500 games in the National Hockey League.

Peoria Rivermen head coach Jean-Guy Trudel announced Sunday veteran enforcer Dennis Sicard has been signed for the 2014-15 season. The 29-year old is the all-time penalty minutes leader in the Southern Professional Hockey League with 1,420 PIM over seven seasons.

The Peoria Rivermen and the Southern Professional Hockey League have announced their 2014-15 regular season schedule. The 33rd season of professional hockey in Peoria will begin Friday, Oct. 24, when the Rivermen welcome the Huntsville Havoc to Carver Arena to kick off the new campaign.
