The Peoria Rivermen have announced that their second “Tip-A-Riv” Dinner will be held on Monday, January 10, 2011 at Gracie’s Sports Grille & Pizza in Washington.  The Rivermen players will be transformed into the wait staff for the evening and all tips generated, as well as proceeds from the auctions and other events throughout the night, will be donated to the Cherish Every Moment – The Dax Locke Foundation.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. with attendees and players mingling and bidding on silent auction items.  Pizza samples will also be available as well as a cash bar.  At 7 p.m. dinner will be served by the players and a live auction will follow.

Dinner will include garden salad, prime rib (or chicken), vegetables, baked potato and Texas Cake.  After dinner and the close of the silent auction at 8 p.m. there will be a live auction and karaoke with the Rivermen players.

Tickets for this fun-filled evening are going fast and are limited. They are on sale now for $60 per seat or $300 for a table of six.  Tickets can be purchased at the sales table on the Carver Arena concourse during Rivermen home games or by calling Katie Kerr at (309) 680-3791.

The inaugural “Tip-A-Riv” Dinner was held on March 2, 2009 and raised $5,478 for the Children’s Hospital of Illinois.

Julie and Austin Locke formed the “Cherish Every Moment – The Dax Locke Foundation” in honor of their son, Dax. It is a non-profit organization whose goal is to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.   So far Dax has raised over a quarter of a million dollars.
