Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced today that the club has released defenseman Jake Gannon from his professional tryout agreement.

Gannon, 23, appeared in 15 games with the Rivermen since he was signed on Nov. 5.  He registered one assist and skated to a plus-four rating in his time with the club. He started the season with the ECHL Utah Grizzlies, where he serves as the team captain, and collected five points (one goal, four assists) in his seven games before joining the Rivermen.

Last season, Gannon also split time between the AHL and ECHL.  Under contract with the New York Islanders, he appeared in 26 games for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL) where he had two goals and two assists.  In 38 games with the Grizzlies he collected six points (two goals, four assists).
