Danny Syvret Added to Blues Defense Corps

St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has signed defenseman Danny Syvret to a one-year, two-way contract.

 

Syvret, 26, spent last season with the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Syracuse Crunch and Adirondack Phantom, tallying 40 points (10 goals, 30 assists) in 59 games.  The 5’11”, 203-pound defenseman also played in 10 games combined with the Philadelphia Flyers and Anaheim Ducks, registering two points (one goal, one assist) and six penalty minutes during the regular season and appeared in 10 playoff games with the Flyers.

 

In 332 career AHL games, Syvret has accumulated 170 points (33g, 137a) including 20 power-play goals. He was an AHL first-team all-star in 2008-09 when he had 57 points in 76 games for the Philadelphia Phantoms.  Over his AHL career, which started in 2005, he has played for Hamilton, Grand Rapids, Springfield, Hershey, Philadelphia, Adirondack, and Syracuse. 

 

Syvret has appeared in 59 National Hockey League (NHL) games between Edmonton, Philadelphia and Anaheim, compiling seven points (three goals, four assists) along with 30 penalty minutes. The Millgrove, Ontario native was originally drafted by Edmonton in the third round, 81st overall, of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
