Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced Sunday that the club has released defensemen Brian O’Hanley from his professional tryout contract (PTO).
O’Hanley, 26, recorded an assist on Saturday against Rockford in his only game with Peoria. He most recently had been a member of the ECHL Cincinnati Cyclones. In six games this season, he has tallied two assists and 12 penalty minutes. He has also seen time with Syracuse (AHL) this yearwhere he accumulated three assists in two games.
Last season, the 5-foot-11-inch, 191-pound defensemen put up 29 points (seven goals, 22 assists) in 53 games for Cincinnati. O’Hanley also played a combined 19 AHL games between Rochester and Portland. A native of Quincy, Mass., O’Hanley played four seasons at Boston College.
The Rivermen begin a nine-game road trip against the Rockford IceHogs tonight at BMO Harris Bank Center. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. and will be available locally on CD Country 107.9 FM or online through www.rivermen.net.
