Peoria Rivermen have announced that their third annual “Tip-A-Riv” Dinner will
be held on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at Lariat Steakhouse in Peoria. The Rivermen players will be transformed into
the wait staff for the evening and all tips generated, as well as proceeds from
the auctions and other events throughout the night, will be donated to the
Angel of Hope Project.

auction and karaoke with the Rivermen players.

The inaugural “Tip-A-Riv” Dinner was held on March 2, 2009
and raised $5,478 for the Children’s Hospital of Illinois. Last year’s event was held on March 16, 2011
and generated $6,000 to benefit “Cherish Every Moment – The Dax Locke Foundation.
of Hope is a non-profit organization that raises money to construct statues
around the country to serve as a beacon of hope for those suffering from the
emotional and physical absence of a child.
Each Angel of Hope statue costs approximately $14,500 and the hope is to
raise enough money to have one placed in Peoria.
