Season series: Tonight marks
the seventh of 12 meetings between the Peoria Rivermen and Milwaukee Admirals
this season. Overall, the Rivermen are 1-5-0-0 against the Admirals after they
captured a 1-0 win in their most recent meeting last Sunday. Milwaukee has won all three meetings at
Carver Arena this season by a combined score of 9-4 over Peoria. The Rivermen
are 22-32-3-3 all-time against Milwaukee since joining the league in 2005.
Big story: Although
Peoria has lost five of six to Milwaukee this season, the Rivermen have outshot
the Admirals 170-168. In addition, Peoria has converted on six of 23 (26.1%)
power plays and has killed 18 of 20 (90.0%) in favor of Milwaukee. The Rivermen
have scored just one even-strength goal against the Admirals this season.
Rivermen: Peoria entered
Friday night’s game against the Chicago Wolves with a four-game point streak,
but fell 5-2 and relinquished third place in the Midwest Division.
Stefan Della Rovere and Brett Sonne each scored for Peoria
while Ben Bishop saved 27 of 31 shots on goal.
The Rivermen did receive reinforcements on the blue line
prior to tonight’s game with the return of Cade Fairchild from St. Louis.
Admirals: Milwaukee took on the
Charlotte Checkers in a battle for first place in the Midwest Division last
night but came up short in a 4-3 loss.
Mueller and Kyle Wilson each added a goal and an assist in the defeat. Mueller
is now the sole leader in both points (25) and goals (14) for the Admirals this
