St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and
General Manager Doug Armstrong
announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Jake Allen from the Peoria Rivermen and placed goaltender Jaroslav Halak on injured reserve
today. The team has also reassigned Paul
Karpowich to Peoria from their ECHL affiliate, Evansville IceMen.
has appeared in 31 games for the Rivermen this season posting a 12-13-3-2
record including a 2.94 goals against average, .903 save percentage and two
shutouts. The 6’2, 200-pound goaltender
set Rivermen records for wins (24), minutes played (2,805), saves (1,306) and
shutouts (6) during the 2010-11 season.
The Fredericton, New Brunswick native was drafted by the Blues in the
second round (34th overall) of the 2008 Entry Draft.
24, made his professional debut this season with the IceMen. In 23 games, he
has posted a 7-12-1-1 record with a 3.08 goals-against average and 0.905 save
percentage. He posted a 23-save shutout on Nov. 17 against Fort Wayne.

Karpowich played the last four seasons at Clarkson University. In 2011-12 with the Golden Knights, he played a
career-high 37-games, posting a record of 16-15-6 with a school record
5-shutouts and a 2.46 GAA and .921 sv%. In all, Karpowich played in school
record 130-career games, registering 7-shutouts and 46-victories.
