Calum Worthy, who plays the role of ‘Dez’ on the hit Disney Channel show Austin and Ally, will be in attendance on Friday, Nov. 1, when the Rivermen battle the Mississippi River Kings courtesy of Pekin Insurance. Fans will have the opportunity to meet Worthy, as well as receive pictures and autographs on the concourse throughout the game.
“We wanted to do something extra special for the fans early on,” Rivermen co-owner Bart Rogers said. “It’s all part of bringing entertainment back to Rivermen games and we are thrilled to have such a popular actor like Calum join us. We also want to thank Pekin Insurance for their support to help make this happen.”
The insurance company is underwriting the costs to bring in the Canadian actor and there will be no increase in individual ticket prices for that game.
Worthy is scheduled to meet fans and sign autographs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the main concourse of Carver Arena. Autographs are free and will be limited to one-per-person on items you provide. 8x10 photos of Worthy will also be available for $5 each. In addition, the Rivermen will hold a private meet-and-greet with Worthy from 5:15 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. for contest winners and corporate partners.
The 22-year-old Victoria, British Columbia native has appeared in more than 50 movies and TV shows since 2001. He is a six-time nominee and two-time winner of the Young Artist Award and has played the role of ‘Dez’ on Disney’s Austin and Ally since December, 2011.
Worthy also co-starred with Anna Kendrick in the 2013 movie, Rapturepalooza.
All fans that would like to meet Worthy must purchase a ticket for the game. For tickets or more information, please contact the Rivermen office at (309) 676-1040 or visit the team store located inside the Peoria Civic Center.
