Zach Wilkie, Nick Latinovich Earn All-SPHL Honors

PEORIA, IL – The SPHL and the Peoria Rivermen announced on Thursday that defenseman Zach Wilkie and goaltender Nick Latinovich have been named to the 2023-24 SPHL All-First team and All-Second teams respectively.

 

Wilkie, a native of Villa Park, IL, is in his third season with the Rivermen and the SPHL. Following up on his Defenseman of the Year performance last season, Wilkie has continued to pace all defensemen in the SPHL in points. (41), plus-minus (+32) and power-play goals (6). Wilkie finished the regular season with 10 goals and 31 assists for 41 points. A member of 2022’s SPHL All-Rookie team, this is Wilkie’s second straight year as a member of the SPHL All-First team.

 

Goaltender Nick Latinovich, a native of Maple, Ontario, Canada, is in his second season in the SPHL and first with the Peoria Rivermen. Latinovich was the primary netminder for Peoria this season and quietly put together one of the best campaigns for a goaltender in 2023-24. Latinovich led all SPHL goaltenders in goals-against-average (1.93), wins (27), and shutouts (7). A member of 2023’s SPHL All-Rookie team, this is Latinovich’s first appearance on the SPHL All-Second team.

 

The Rivermen are hosting the Evansville Thunderbolts on Friday, April 19 at Carver Arena for Game Two of the President’s Cup Semifinals. Face-off is set for 7:15 pm, the Rivermen lead the best-of-three series 1-0.
