Rivermen Team Up With Susan G. Komen for the Cure
October 20, 2010
The Peoria Rivermen and Susan G. Komen for the Cure have partnered together for this year’s Pink in the Rink Night which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 7:05 p.m. when the Rivermen take on the Oklahoma City Barons. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales as well as a postgame jersey auction will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
All breast cancer survivors can receive a free ticket to the game by contacting the Rivermen office. All tickets purchased through the Rivermen office before Oct. 30 will have 1/3rd of the money donated to the Peoria Memorial Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
“We are so proud to be able to partner with this terrific organization and raise some money to fight breast cancer,” said Jason Penning, Rivermen Chief Operating Officer. “It is such a powerful and global force for women and men with breast cancer, that all started here in Peoria, and we are looking forward to a great night on October 30.”
The Rivermen team will be wearing limited edition pink jerseys during the game and then after the game will sell them to the highest bidder. The live auction will take place down on the ice and the auction winners will be invited down to ice-level to receive their jersey as well as have an opportunity for a picture and autograph from the player.
All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the games to show their support for those effected by breast cancer.
To ensure that your ticket purchase is part of the donation please call 309-676-1040 or visit the Rivermen office, located inside the Peoria Civic Center. Fans can also click HERE to download an order form that can be mailed in.
