Sharks Loan Goaltender Alex Stalock to Peoria
March 3, 2012
Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced Sunday that the club has acquired goaltender Alex Stalock on loan from the San Jose Sharks. A 2010 AHL all-star, Stalock has spent his entire AHL career with Worcester up to this point.
Stalock (STAY-lock), 24, was Worcester's team MVP in 2009-10, when he set an AHL rookie record with 39 wins. He has compiled a 59-37-6 all-time record in the AHL, and earned the win in his only NHL appearance with San Jose.
Returning from a year-long injury absence, Stalock posted a 1-1-0 record with a 2.51 GAA and a .909 save percentage in two games with Worcester this season. He has also gone 5-1-0 with the ECHL Stockton Thunder and posted a 2.83 GAA and .914 save percentage.
Stalock suffered a leg laceration on Feb. 4, 2011 after being stepped on by a skate behind his left knee.
